| | | weblogs.asp.net - Microsoft has a lot forums in different (community) sites with a lot of topics. In this posting I listed up Microsoft forums, their locations and forum groups (categories under which forums belong). The purpose of this posting is to provide you with important information - where you get help when you have technical problems. The first is this evening at a London .NET User Group event. I'll be presenting Silverlight 3. Unfortunately the event is already over-registered - so if you haven't registered yet you'll need to catch it the next time I'm in town. The second talk is tomorrow (Friday) from 1-4pm at the Microsoft facility in Reading and is on ASP.NET MVC. When we first announced it last week it also over-registered quickly. Thankfully my hosts were able to get a larger room this week, though, so another 120 spots became available. It has many Ajax and JavaScript features to allow you enhance semantic coding and user experience. From jQuery homepage - "jQuery is a fast and concise JavaScript Library that simplifies HTML document traversing, event handling, animating, and Ajax interactions for rapid web development. jQuery is designed to change the way that you write JavaScript."jQuery definitely is one of the biggest trends coming in up-to-date designs and the best of all, everything is done without countless code lines. After hours and hours of slamming my head into the desk it turns out it was the darn "d" in the response. My home computer is on .NET 2.0 and my work computer is on 3.5. Jimminie Christmas! I realized that the ".d" introduced in ASP.NET AJAX 3.5's JSON responses is still all too common a stumbling block when calling ASP.NET AJAX services through a library such as jQuery. In fact, with jQuery's popularity among ASP.NET developers on the rise, this appears to have become an even more frequent problem. One thing of particular interest is the Just In Time Compiler or JIT. Today, we are going
to look at how the JIT compiles MSIL, and create a utility that allows us to programmatically replace any JIT'ed method with another method at runtime. "In case you're not familiar with PLINQO, this set of code-generation templates are designed to enhance the LINQ-to-SQL development experience. They're not only a time-saver like most code generation templates, but they allow you to overcome many of the limitations of raw LINQ-to-SQL." In this video, I'll demonstrate how using the Outlining Expansion feature in Visual Studio makes it a whole lot easier to copy and paste entire methods or classes. The trick is using the CTRL+M, CTRL+M shortcut key to collapse bodies of code first. Enjoy the video! At that time, building a Web application on the Microsoft platform was a matter of assembling a bunch of Active Server Pages (ASP). Adhering to design patterns help in creating systems that are robust, scalable and maintainable as design patterns follow best practices and established standards. Design patterns have existed in non software engineering disciplines for a long time. Mechanical engineers reuse proven standard design models when designing a new kind of lathe machine. Instead, they reuse existing designs. (read more...) tags.Net, C#, Design |
